It is linked to the Post-Graduation Program of the Pro-Rectory of the University of São Paulo. It was created in 1969 and it has been in an uninterrupted activity since 1971. It is the oldest Post-Graduation Program in Law, functioning in the Country, after the reformulation accomplished by the Sucupira Opinion, in 1965.

Despite its traditions, the Post-Graduation Program at USP conserves itself up-to-date, producing knowledge applicable to the solution of the national problems, in multiple fields of the juridical science related to its research areas, lines and projects.
